Sustainable Development Goals

The World Future Council supports the Sustainable Development Goals.

In September 2015, world leaders committed to an ambitious global agenda, Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with the overarching goal to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development. The Agenda is a plan of action for people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership. All States and all stakeholders recognized their respective responsibilities for the implementation of this Agenda. The Global Policy Action Plan, GPACT, offers a rounded, coherent package of proven, break through policies which can help Governments to implement the 17 sustainable development goals and 167 supporting targets. These highlighted policies help to demonstrate and respond to the integrated nature of the SDGs.
